ACT 235 Getting Started
|
|
The following is a list of steps for getting started towards an ACT 235 Certification. In order to take our class
you MUST have your approval letter from the State on the first day of class. There are certain steps needed towards
getting this approval letter. It is strongly recommended that you also review the information available at
Pennsylvania State's
Lethal Weapons Training Program Site.
|
| |
Initial ACT 235 Certification:
Go to a State Police Barracks with a completed application and a money order for $80.25.
You will be fingerprinted at this time, which they will use to run a background check on you.
You will need to complete a Doctor exam and Psychological Exam.
The doctor / psychologist will submit the results directly to the State. It is recommended to choose one that
is familiar with the ACT 235 process.
Ready Aim Fire plans to schedule doctors on site. We will list these dates on our
Act 235 Schedule page when available.
You will receive an approval letter issued by the State.
You must submit this letter on the first day of class. Failure to do so will make
you ineligible to attend the class. This is mandated by the State and there are no exceptions.
ACT 235 Re-Certification:
You will need to submit an application for renewal.
You should receive a letter from the State reminding you to renew.
This is not your approval letter.
Renewal applicants must submit a $30 renewal fee made payable to the Pennsylvania State Police.
You will receive an approval letter on acceptance.
You must submit this letter on the day of the recertification class.
The PA State web page has a list of
